Economically backward non-reserved castes to avail the benefits of 25 different schemes from the next academic term

23 Schools established before the commencement of the Act are required to submit the self-declaration within three months of the commencement of the Act in all states except Bihar, where the limit is six months, and Rajasthan, where no time-limit is specified.
24 The time-limit ranges from 30 days from the receipt of application in Andhra Pradesh, 45 days in Madhya Pradesh, and three months in Bihar, Himachal Pradesh and Maharashtra. There are no details mentioned in the Rajasthan Rules.
25Section 18 (5) of the RTE Act stipulates that if a school operates without a certificate of recognition, it shall cease to function and shall be liable to pay a fine up to Rs. 1 lakh, and in case of continuing violations, a fine of Rs. 10,000 would be levied for each day that the violation continues.
